What is a doula?

The word "doula" comes from the ancient Greek Meaning  "a woman who serves" and is now used to refer to a trained and experienced professional who provides continuous, emotional and information support to a mother before, during and after birth; or during the postpartum period.   Check out the DONA INTERNATIONAL website to learn more.  http://www.dona.org

DO YOU PROVIDE BIRTH DOULA SUPPORT?

I do not provide birth doula support however, if you are pregnant and interested in having a birth doula, I would be happy to assist you in finding a birth doula that fits your needs.  Other great resources to assist you in your birth doula seach are  doulamatch.net and Twin Cities Childbirth Collective.

What if I don't feel like I need doula assistance, can I still benefit from pride & Joy doula Services, llc?

I only offer help to those who would like my support as I know that this is an incredibly special time in your life and sometimes additional people can feel overwhelming.

However, I am happy to talk with you and see if there is anything that I can do to honor or celebrate you as I believe that often gets overlooked during pregnancy and childbirth and postpartum. So often we focus on celebrating the baby and forget to honor and celebrate Mom and Dad.  Feel free to contact me and we can discuss what would make your day!

" I am happy to talk with you and see if there is anything that I can do to honor and celebrate you!"
